Gan Yan~ On the rd side perf, evryone felt so excited but the most anxious person's Teacher loh! Almost 4gotton tat we'll hve the last song "hui Xiang" & can't wait 2 stand up thinking tat the whole perf's finished..HeHe! Gan Jong hor! Practising 4 so long & yet juz a moment of time perfming. Passed so fast... But e satisfaction & happiness right after e perf can't be described! Onli e FO GUAN LE TUANSssss mber kws.. Anyway, evryone was great in terms of taking pride! Teacher, Can U feel it?
PS~ I"Ve lost the (SHE CD) & (A golden burned CD inside e white packing evlope) inside the changing rm while helping in making up juz nw.. Might dropped it at e back stage oso... Firstly I feel very stress as a conductor... I never done it before, Though I was feel bit paiseh when everyone looked at me.... Appolozise if i'm not leading the group well.
Hereby I would like to thanks everyone of you for your strong support & encouragement during past practice & also on the both day actual show...
Although its a Roadshow, but don't ever looked down on this small achievement, It may become great success in future...

There's long way for us to go, do keep it up the hardwork & maintain the spirit ok Jia you everyone.
I'm glad that we all started to built up the team sprit recently.

新加坡佛光山举办的浴佛法会开锣咯！我们乐团也在这两天的街头表演顺利演出，虽然还有待改进，希望大家再接再励，我们乐团将会有出头的一天。
周四（卫塞节假日）：
傍晚到光明山去听［佛.笑］演唱会。当晚被光明山青年团演出的热诚及努力给感动了……希望有朝一日我们佛光乐团也能够一样，慢慢进步而呈现出更有水准的演出……

1)During the vesak day, there seems to be a 'sudden' increase in the number of youth dancers, it was very 'spectacular' when they stood on stage...they oredi created the 'sheng1 shi4' b4 the performance start.
perhaps we can jio more people to join our perfromance should there be one...just like fo guang shouyu and dance, we dun have a regular group but once there is a performance, we'll just gather everyone together.
2)oso i think our rehearsal can be more effective and organised. we can first try to memorise the score bit by bit and rehease the same part repeatly instead of synchronizing the clap first and then memorized the score in the last min. it will be better if we can memorise the score fm the start (bit by bit) and I think it does help to synchronize the clapping better....
3) of course not forgetting the leadership of our teacher. Analogy~ if there is a rock infront, under normal circumstances, we'll tend to focus on the obstacle, we will have the perception that we can only reach the destination only when the rock is removed.
However, teacher will find ways to detour inorder to reach the destination. He never give up even there is an obstacle. He is very persistance, never give up, flexible and is very dharmic in his teachings and thinking. Thus he lead us to break thru our problems and perception.
For my case, I'll be very 'brave' to confront the 'rock', haha! I'll get hit and bleed all over the body before i learnt my lesson how to overcome the obstacle. But I never give up. I learnt my lesson thru the hard way.
For some of us...one may just look at the rock and accept that the rock is there, cant do anything cos one does not has the ability to remove it. After some times, one may just give up and leave. Though everything is 'untact', but one may not learn the lesson and never learn how to remove the obstacle in the future. There is a high tendency that one will always 'give up' whenever one encounters problem.
Thus, I really appreciate that our teacher has demostrated a very positive attitude towards life and his wisdom of dealing difficult situation.

of course, i was very touched that everyone committed and work hard for the performance!I nearly give up (cos cannot rem the score) but cos of the team spirits, it made me moved on!
to be clear, i was involved in many things during the vesak day~got sutra to rem (for my future studies), shouyu to rehearse, as I was very bad in music, thus i nid more time to learn singing than the rest, really dun have extra time to rem the score for the performance (my memory is very bad, so nid quite alot of time to memorise things). And i spend most of my travel time memorizing my sutra and mantra~ almost wanted to drop the yue4 tuan2 performance, but I insist cos u all made me feel I should be involved! thank you!
I think i abit like 周华健...always 忘词~even my 佛光四句偈recite for 8-9 years liao sometimes will oso forget~ *pengz* so cannot rem too much things at one time...定力不够lah~
maybe shouldnt say 'give up', but just want to release myself from yue4 tuan2 performance...cos felt abit overloaded liao!esp i was suddenly thrown to the shouyu project just 3 weeks b4 the vesak day!
but i was very touched by our team spirit and I think i shouldn't walk out at that moment....大家要互相扶持与护持..though dat period i really want to peng san + Brain dead liao...haha

Actually, I always have a “dream” of putting up a show that combining ALL groups in Fo Guang Shan (Singapore) …….
I’ve to apologize as the score was amended so many times and it’s only finalized one week before the road show ….
Thank you for your appraisal …. Most of the time, we tend to “forget” our CORE “goal” or “objective” when the “obstacles” appear as we are too busy on tackling the “obstacles”…..
My belief is …. 有做, 未必有; 没有做, 肯定没有.
Indeed, everyone was committed and put in lots of effort and time, especially in the later part …… It will be even better if we commit Regularly and Consistently…. That will result in Greater Achievement with lesser effort and time….
You are involved in many things, but not too many things, is actually good … Knowing that you are not good in singing or memorizing things ….. is good, so you can improve or strengthen your weakness… BUT do not keep saying “I’m weak in this and that”, instead….you can say “I want to improve this and that”

actually i dun have a strong character like wat people perceive...i did break down (infront of shifu somemore!)when I felt it was beyond my ability to accomplish certain task.
But fgs is a very good training ground whereby we have to learnt to break thru our limitations and then you'll realise, like wat u've said, our weak point is not as bad as we think....it's thru continuing effort that we transform the weak point into good one. and thru perseverance and endurance we can break thru our limitation and develop our potiential~
during the performance, everyone's participation is so impt...the encouragement may not be in term of words, the encouragement can be in term of everyone's presence, participation, attitude and effort...
everyone has made the performance possible!
same to the shouyu performance 2...though the time is rush and everyone's schedule was tight, if not becos you've xi1 sheng1 and feng4 xian4 your time and effort, the performance will not be a possible one!

though i'm not involved in as many things as lao shi thot, rehearsal itself oredi very time consuming~
esp I'm in charge of the shouyu rehearsal, cannot suka suka absence...the performers can still suka suka late, suka suka dun come, i cant... and i must make sure everything runs well within such a short notice...I was as stressed as lao shi taking care of the yue4 tuan3 performance....
gg for 2 rehearsals or more per week plus so many lessons to attend make me almost went back to fo tang everyday during the period....
I nid a break~
i dun mind to go for rehearsals as a performer, but once u are given a certain responsibility to be in charge of certain things, u'll start to feel the stress....
i suppose David was also very stress to be selected as a conductor gua...at that point of time, i suppose we just want to concentrate on that particular performance and realease fm extra load as possible~
I was thinking to skip the study group on every wed during dat period, kekee...but 'heng' 'heng' is ban1 zhang3 oso cannot dun go...
fa qi on thursday lagi cannot skip..cos oredi lagging behind others due to bad music sense, die die oso must go else lagi behind....haha
but it's a good learning experience to multitask...haha!
perhaps i can share my experience to show how i appreciate to those who has helped in the shouyu performance~
I was only told abt the shouyu performance just 3 weeks b4 the vesak day peformance. The lyrics given was not full, i have to listen to the cd and re-type out the full lyrics.
Lucky siew ching is kind enuff to help me in the cheorograph-ing of the actions in such a short peroid. then I have to draw out the diagram (for easy reference), refine the actions and think of how to present the long long intro and how to make the teaching effective so that the performers can learn the actions in such a short time.
when i approached the Young adult gp to perform, my heart was half dead when they told me all are involved in the ushering and no time to help.
so i msg to every possible people (outside and inside fgs) and half of them reply saying they r occupied with other rehearsals and duties...
my heart almost drop dead...
but luckily, xiurong, xiuyun, karen, etc etc transformed into guan yin pusa and come to my rescue. I neber expected they are willing to perform cos they are inexperience in shouyu~
then next was the rehearsing time. fo tang was so occupied with so many diff classes and no space for us to rehearse. oso every performancers have different available time.
It's hard to compromise everyone's timing. but sudi and weixian were willing to skip their lesson on tues to join the rehearsal. sooooo touched!!!!
esp weixian is so busy wif her fa wu but she still willing to spend time to help~
initially, perhaps some performers were not serious enuff...always cannot rem where they stand and when to turn...time is running out and i was very stressed...I lost my temper somehow...
so sorri!
but everyone was very cooperative when i keep changing some actions (like yang lao shi haha)to make the performance better...
though the performance was short....but 台上一分钟,台下十年功哩!
the preparation itself it's time consuming liao! thank you everyone!

cos there was once when we were gg to watch the muscial drama put up by the buddhist fellowship one particular sunday,
I was pestering guang sheng to practise the clapping wif me(cos i 临时抱佛, the performance was just one week away!)
we made full use of the travelling time to practise (on bus, on mrt, on stairs while we were waiting for the rest to come and even practising the clapping while walking~)
haha! 难为了guang sheng, he was very patient then.
I felt so bad after dat cos xiuyun was feeling unwell yet i was only concentrating on my practise, neglected her needs.....
then the nite b4 the yue4 tuan2 performance, i did something which i shldn't and the matter got bigger. so i was quite guilty and was sleepless dat nite...
the very next day, I nid to go help out at 7am early in the morning at the suntec. My mind was blank and could not rem the score totally...
so i tried very hard b4 the performance practising the clap hopefully i can rem them....(then i realise it just cant get into my head, a bit panic liao)
luckily, we are able to read the score during the performance (though it was not advisable)
dat's explain y i keep on practising the clap lor~HEE...
